I get that people can’t just go around killing other people, but if the justice system worked the way it should, that wouldn’t even be an issue. Two years for completely destroying an innocent child’s life; 70 years for taking the life of the person who chose to destroy an innocent child’s life. So justice is only served for the initial aggressor, but not the primary victim. It’s so backwards and sick.

As a child abuse specialist, with the rates of recitivism for child offenders, this crime is the most resistant to treatment. These people RARELY stop. I won’t lose sleep over this loss of “life”.
