@italianlife: This is my attempt at taking ownership over my hardest moments…I wanted to post this to speak generally about life and mental health. It’s so difficult to look at these photos of myself, I can still feel all the pain I was feeling. I just want people to know you’re not the only person in the world feeling like you’re in a rut, or at the bottom of a pit and there’s no way out. I know that feeling all too well. It’s okay not to feel okay. But know that things will get better and you need to help yourself be better! I’ve always struggled with binge eating and eating is my comfort and pick me up. But i’ve learned this over the years: don’t worry about letting yourself go for a few days, even weeks. Sometimes we need to retreat and hibernate a bit. But then it’s important to get off your arse and get back to the world and to life. It’s hard. So hard. But everything gets better. You can do anything you put your mind to. You just need to have a clearer mind to be able to. There is a light at the end of the tunnel (so cliché). There were long phases in my life where the thought of going to the gym, or even getting out of bed, was the hardest thing I could imagine. Now I feel even prouder every time I show up because I know what a mental challenge it’s been for me, and I’m beating my own demons! When you feel like the uggliest, most disgusting, worthless, talentless, insignifcant version of yourself, remember there’s the version of yourself that’s confident, happy, beautiful, and intelligent on the other side of it all. Life comes in phases, like the seasons. You know that after every winter, there will be a summer. - #mentalhealthawarenesscheck
