Heat destroys bacteria but not the toxins that they have created. You can still get sick from food and utensils even though they have been heated

I use soap on my old Wagner & Griswold all the time. I can fry an egg & slide it out of any of them.

My pan looks identical to that one. And I am perfectly fine with it. I use soap on the inside and I always reoil it with lard then wipe it dry.
