A CRIMP IS ALWAYS BETTER WHEN DONE CORRECTLY. I SAID WHAT I SAID.

soldered wires will fail with vibration, that's why they're not used in automotive applications. I implore you to look up the NASA wiring manual.

people seem to forget all electrical plugs have crimped pins no resistance issues there....

use leaded solder and you won't have issues with cracking from vibrations. at all.

CNH has it in bold print not to use solder on CAN wire repairs because it can cause more resistance

@Twitch_Masterflex please repeat the test with a voltage drop to actually see the difference in repair

ah, that's why circuit boards have crimp connectors on the components In cars! seen many failures with corrosion on crimps. never on solder

I would be more convinced if you load tested the wires to close to the limit of their current carrying capacity and show the voltage drop on each

Solder is for boards; automotive appliances should be crimped

You can have 1 strand and it will show ok resistance. Do voltage drops for a real test.

everything has resistance, there’s no such thing as “zero resistance” it only really matters in computers and modules where the circuit is sensitive.

bruh. electricity takes the path of least resistance. it cares not through you or the wire 🤦🏻‍♂️someone gonna be mad about that my guy.....

Soldering makes a more reliable connection, as long as you twist the wires together first, then solder, the solder will not break

testing in tenths of ohms to come to conclusions on 18awg wire. .1 is basically saying yes there is resistance.

I wonder if you know that your body(fingers) have resistance...you could be measuring yourself, not the wires.
