@fishlikemike: Reasons I love fall fishing ⬇️🍁 1.) The type of fish you can catch: 🎣 This time of year certain fish come into the rivers, creeks and streams that are not available other months of the year. Salmon, steelhead and brown trout move out of the lakes into the streams to mate and reproduce allowing anglers to go out and try and catch them. The fish are also way bigger when they “run” out of the lake than the very small trout you find on small inland streams year round. 2.) The fall views: 🍂 This should come to no surprise but this time of year the leaves turn from green to bright yellow, orange and red creating amazing backdrops for pictures and scenic walks along the water. 3.) Lots of steps: 👣 After fishing most of the summer in a kayak or boat, during the fall it’s a nice change to get a lot more steps per day since I am hiking miles and miles to find remote spots that hold giant fish. Although kayaking is a great exercise, it’s a different type of workout and your legs will feel it after a long day stepping over rocks and through roaring water. 4.) Challenge: 🤔 This time of year there are lots of different variables and weather conditions that make the fishing hard on some days. Whether it be rainfall rising and dirtying up the water or super low clear water conditions or even an early snow storm, fishing can be hard which makes the catch more rewarding and challenging. 5.) Deer/ Other wildlife: 🦌 This time of year the deer are beginning their “rut” when they are on the move looking for a mate. I can’t even count anymore how many massive bucks I have seen this time of the year walking near the creeks. I have snuck up on many since they don’t hear you coming as much when wading through the water. When walking miles and miles throughout the woods you also see lots of other wildlife by simply just being out there.
