The thief on the cross did what we have to do to be saved. The thief on the cross feared God, he believed in Jesus, he admitted his sins & repented of them, & he called on the name of Jesus went he asked Jesus to remember him when he got to his kingdom.

Amen. Also scripture doesn’t tell us whether or not the theif was baptized. It’s dangerous to add things the Bible doesn’t say. It’s actually very possible the theif was baptized, He clearly knew who Jesus was. But that doesn’t matter because Hebrews 9:16-17 tells us a will doesn’t go into effect until the death of the person who made it.

Take it one more step. The Bible Does Not say the thief wasn't baptized. If I am errant, tell me where it is stated that he was or wasn't baptized.
