Terry is known for work that centers around blacked women’s lived experiences, giving black women a voice and an outlet to discuss their relationships. You may know her as the author of Waiting to Exhale or How Stella Got Her Groove Back. I know what it’s like to be a woman (it’s hard), but I do not know what its like to be black other than its freaking hard, especially in this country, so being a black woman can’t be easy (understatement of the year).
