Save and share this super helpful tip 👇🏻 👶🏼 How to treat newborn “sticky eye” with breastmilk 👶🏼 • Try placing a drop or two of breast milk directly into the inner portion of your baby’s eyes while they are closed— once they open their eyes, the milk will fall into the eyes and work to clear up any infection. In this video I used my harvested colostrum in my @haakaanz silicone colostrum kit ( AMAZING) highly recommend!! But you could also squirt it directly from your breast. • Use this treatment a few times a day for a week or two or until their tear ducts have cleared up. 🔬 Research tells us that breastmilk contains various protective components, such as immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, lysozyme, oligosaccharides and immune cell subsets. It also suggests that the use of breastmilk as eye drops could be considered as a first-line treatment for infants aged ≤6 months with eye discharge. My little Maxi is 2 weeks old and has a few days of “sticky eye” - my breastmilk has cleared it up so quickly. I am constantly amazed at my bodies ability to meet all his needs with my breast.
