Yep, algorithms do shadow banning and may even make gender bias worse. Gender bias is not the only problem, also race bias, age bias etc exist.

Its true. We can see it clearly in open Twitter's algorithm on github. Shadow Ban is real and its triggered by a set or rules combined.
