Ransomware is a type of malicious software (malware) that encrypts a victim’s files or locks them out of their system. Once the encryption is complete, the ransomware displays a message demanding payment, typically in cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, in exchange for the decryption key or to regain access to the system. The motive is primarily monetary, and victims often feel compelled to pay the ransom to recover their data or restore system functionality. However, there’s no guarantee that paying will result in data recovery or system restoration. Ransomware attacks can target individuals, businesses, and even public institutions, causing significant data loss, financial costs, and operational disruptions. #python #malware #coding #cybersecurity
