From the very start, life wasn’t easy for Lou Bear. He lost his mother at birth, leaving him vulnerable in a world that treats animals like him as mere commodities rather than living, breathing, emotional individuals. But God had a different plan for this baby, sending angels to guide him safely to Asha’s Farm Sanctuary. Today at the sanctuary, I captured holding Lou Bear close, whispering to him that he is truly loved (my promise to protect him from harm forever). As he rests in my arms, completely secure, this gentle steer looks directly into the camera. In the dark reflection of that glass, he doesn't just see a camera. He sees the two of us together. And, for the first time, he sees love looking back at him. This beautiful moment is a living extension of how God sees every single one of us. Just like Lou Bear, we often carry deep hurts, silent fears, and the heavy weight of feeling completely misunderstood or rejected by the world. God looks past human judgment to see our true inner beauty and loves us unconditionally just as we are. He holds us safe through every storm, reminding us through scripture that His steadfast love reaches to the heavens and provides refuge. Through Jesus’s mercy, we are never abandoned and remain forever secure in His arms. When we look to Jesus for love, our Father in heaven sees our love looking right back at Him. This is why we were created, because he first loved us. John 4:19 says,
