@triggtube: Should you salt your 🍝 "like the sea"? The phrase "like the sea" may just have started as hyperbole to encourage cooks to season their water more, because the tendency is definitely to underseason. Or it's just the beautiful poetry of Italian cuisine to imagine pasta flavored by the sea. Whatever it is... don't take it literally. Just like salting your food, proper saltiness really comes down to personal preference. Adding SOME salt to your pasta water before cooking the pasta is extremely important though because it's the only time you can infuse the pasta with seasoning to enhance the dish. Salt levels should be as high as possible without tasting outright salty, which for me was about 1 TBSP per Liter/Quart of water. But you'll have to experiment and see what works for you. #italianfood #foodscience #cooking #pasta #salt

Wouldn’t it depend on cooking time? Fresh pasta that cooks in 2-3 minutes needs saltier water than dried pasta that cooks in 9-12 minutes.

It’s the worst advice I hear them give them to cook pasta… please don’t salt your pasta like the sea
