I know I’m crying at what seems like a relatively normal thing but since I’ve been voting, I’ve never been given this right to vote in secret before… I still can’t believe it happened and I want to thank the McGonagle reader team for dropping the device at my house this morning, you guys are legends and I’ll always remember the first ever day I voted completely independently on my own in secret at age 28!! Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing for me but there are so many blind and visually impaired people out there still not able to vote in secret today and I will be advising polling stations going forward on the steps we can take to make things better. I really do appreciate the RNIB team that came out to teach me how to use the McGonagle reader. Let’s hope that future elections can be more accessible! ❤️ .
