@eteportraits: What does this drawing say to you? When I first embarked on this project, a commissioned piece, I was curious about what this piece of art would ‘mean’. Can a lone hand have meaning? But throughout the creation process, its meaning became more and more obvious to me. Every moment I spent on this drawing was entirely reliant on my hands. And this got me thinking about our hands, and what they have come to mean for us as a species. They DEFINE us. A concert pianist, a carpenter, a writer, a doctor, whatever it is that you think makes us so unique as a species, our hands play a vital role.
