This is why I love cannulas with a valve that stop blood flow back, don’t have to manually occlude!

My biggest problem is twisting the end piece of the catheter to the extension set. I wish an alternative device was available..

Placing some gauze under the connection area can help prevent a mess if you're not fast enough ☝🏻️

Vascular nurse here, be careful to not touch the catheter while you are poking as that catheter is now inside the vein and contaminated.

You need to get the iv start kits that occlude and don’t allow blood flow. There’s a cover on it no mess!

choosing that spot where your arm bends hurts everytime you flex, and pulls on the tegaderm.

Isn’t that catheter self occluding? We have those and you don’t need to occlude the vein.
