I love my Add-a-Lock! I had a landlord show up while I was asleep and didn't hear him...he broke the key trying to get in and the door didn't budge.

Those are a must!! The flap that you pointed out I was in a room and a man was able to get into my room even with that flap blocking the door.

A rubber doorstop, the little wedge looking thing, is also very useful for making hotel rooms slightly safer. They make them with pressure alarms, too

I also have the door stopper one that if the door is opened it makes an alarm noise. Great if you have kids that like to mess with the door.

I was taught to also put a towel over the L shaped lock to prevent someone from using a wire to close it from the other side of the door.

They also make a door stop that has an alarm on it. Both the door stop and addalock are TSA approved
