@geniuseatss: Galbi-Jjim - Korean Braised Beef Short Ribs 🇰🇷 Ingredients: 1.4 kg of beef short ribs, cut into 2 inch 14 cloves of garlic, minced 1/2 tbsp of ginger, minced 4 potatoes, cut into 1 inch cubes 3-4 carrots, cut into 1 inch long 200g of Korean rice cake 4 cups of organic water, just to cover the short ribs Sauce * 2/3 cup of soy sauce * 1 cup of mirin * 1/4 cup of gochujang / Korean chili paste * 4 tbsp of gochugaru / Korean chili flakes * 1 tbsp of sesame oil * 1/3 cup of brown sugar * 2 tbsp of Korean Rice Syrup To garnish: Green Onion Sesame seeds Steps: Blanch the beef ribs: 1. In a pot, fill it with enough water to cover the beef ribs and bring it to a boil. 2. Add the beef ribs and boil for 10 minutes.. Drain the beef ribs, rinse away the scum and return it to the pot. Braise the beef ribs: 2. Add garlic and ginger into the pot along with the pre-mix sauce. 4. Add organic water to cover the beef short rib and boil over high heat. 5. Once it is boiling, cover with a lid, reduce the heat to medium and let it cook for 35 minutes. Stir occasionally during the simmering to avoid burn. 6. Stir in the carrots and potatoes into the pot and let it cook for another 45 minutes. 7. Then, stir in the rice cakes and cook (covered) for another 15 minutes until rice cakes become soft. 8. Once the rice cakes become soft, bring the heat to medium-high and cook for another 10 minutes until the sauce is reduced to a glaze consistency. 9.
