As UNIFIL approaches the end of its mandate, the continued relevance and importance of the essential tasks carried out by its peacekeepers in support of the people and security entities in south Lebanon stand out. Peacekeepers monitor and report developments, while using liaison channels to prevent escalation and facilitate deconfliction.
