Honestly, what got me in #lovelikethegalaxy was Niao Niao’s character because of how much I can relate to her. I know her mom loves her, but why does Mom always show the opposite? If they can show care and be empathetic to others, why can’t they do it to their own? Most Asian moms are like this; that’s why Niao Niao’s character hits close to home. The way most moms would belittle their daughters first, because to them, it’s better than others’ would belittle you, but is it really? I don't care about others, but didn’t they know their words sting so hard that it’ll be something that’ll be forever engraved in your mind? Isn’t it laughable to others if your own belittles you? It’s like you’re giving them a free pass, but if you’re protective and proud of them, who would belittle them in front of you? Is it worth it raising your daughter to be strong with your words but hate you deep inside? I don’t know, life’s short. I prefer to figure the outside world out alone and then come home to a loving and supportive home after. The world is already harsh; why must our home be like that too?  #zhaolusi
