@homepoppylane: How to prevent Bed Bugs… this would be my absolute worst nightmare so here’s how you can make sure you don’t get these unwelcome visitors in your bed 🐜 🦗 🚂 They can hide in seats on public transport so be mindful of your clothes when you get home, and put them straight on a hot wash. 🕳️ Seal/caulk any cracks and holes, stick down lifted wallpaper to limit hiding spots. 💨 Steaming furniture will kill bed bugs if in direct contact, so this can be useful for soft furnishings that are not washable. 🧼 Wash your bedding, including sheets and pillowcases, at 60 degrees and tumble dry for 30 mins… High temperatures kill bed bugs! 🕵️‍♀️ Inspect second hand furniture and clothing before bringing it into your home. ✈️ When traveling, keep your luggage off the floor and use luggage stands or racks. Inspect hotel rooms for bed bugs before unpacking. 🧹 Vacuum your bedroom and living areas frequently, paying attention to cracks and crevices. Regularly empty and clean your vacuum. 🛏️ Put Vaseline down bed legs to prevent bugs crawling up to the bed if they have made it into your home. 🍃Use Essential oils in a spray bottle on your bed and bedding such as Cinnamon oil, lemongrass oil, clove oil, peppermint oil, lavender oil, thyme oil, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil.
