For anybody to get on the housing ladder at 25 is a rare lucky thing now! When I was 25 it was a must do! It was achievable on 25k a year!

look the thing is even if you want to argue that ppl buying a 450k home don't need this scheme, they also shouldn't *LOOSE* their own money. take the bonus off them and but let them keep their own 💰

This is similar to what happened to me! I bought a house in Scotland so the cap was lower and didn’t qualify for my HTB % from the govt 😭😩

Same issue with the old Help To Buy ISAs which you can't switch all your money into a new ISA. Can only buy up to 250K. Totally stuck.

This is really confusing. You can put in £4000 per year, the government gives you 25% extra with is £1000….

Increasing the cap will inflate prices to the new cap. The solution is a) build more houses b) tax second homes and landlords significantly.

Even worse when it comes to shared ownership. The cap isn’t on your share of the property, but on the total value of the property (1/2)

Can you easily switch a help to buy ISA to a lifetime ISA? Seems like even with the 450K cap, a lifetime ISA is much better than the help to buy one..
