Kwabena Tahir Hammond, Minister for Trade and Industry and member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa in Ashanti region has explained reason why he couldn't campaign for Dr. Bawumia or Kennedy Agyapong in the just ended NPP Flagbearer election. Speaking to the media after the election he said, "Hon. Kennedy Agyapong is my closest friend from Adisadel College, both of us were in the same camp of Dr. Bawumia for this fragbearership race, so I was very surprised when I received a call from him indicating that, he was going to content as a Fregbearer. So to avoid being bias, I had no option than to stay mute. But I wasn't psychological Intimidated by any person as Kennedy Agyapong's right hand Man Kwame Owusu claims" KT Hammond. He urged the N.P.P to forget about whatever happened during the campaign and unite as one people with a common goal and fight to achieve victory in the 2024 election. According him, party faithful shouldn’t be political enemies. Their enemy is N.D.C and they need everybody in the party to fight them. The minister urge the party members to treat all offensive words from other party members as political gimmicks. He described the presidential aspirants election as free and fair. He said N.P.P has shown maturity in democracy. He further pointed out that , N.P.P are better managers of the Ghanaian economy than the N.D.C. According to the economic management team member, the economy is gradually taking good shape despite the challenges it faced during CVID-19 and Russia-Ukraine war.
