@annietamaki: 🤓 One thing I love to get when I'm in Japan (or Taiwan!) is NEW glasses! I actually got new glasses earlier this year in the US - a brand that I loved sent me a pair of frames I liked so much I had lenses put in. After adding in an option to shave my lenses down (my prescription is pretty high so the lenses are usually thick 😅) and blue light coating, the total was close to $400. 💸 At OWNDAYS in Japan, I got a very similar pair of glasses and the cost of the frame, lenses, blue light protection coating, and thinned out lenses were LESS than $100 😲 And the best part? They were ready in 20 MINUTES! 😱 So if you need glasses and are heading to Japan/Taiwan soon, don't forget to bring your updated prescription! Even if you don't, most places can guide you through a vision test but I would just have Google Translate downloaded in case you need it.
