She doesn’t fix things, she breaks things.” Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, member of the House of Lords and former Conservative party co-chairwoman says Home Secretary Suella Braverman has become “dangerous and divisive” during an interview with Sky News. Braverman recently accused demonstrators who have protested in support of Palestinian rights and called for a ceasefire in Gaza as taking part in “hate marches” and said the UK government stood “foursquare in support of Israel”. Her comments follow on from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s statement saying a pro-Palestine protest planned on 11 November, which coincides with Armistice Day, would be “provocative and disrespectful”. In the past weeks, there has been multiple pro-Palestine protests in London, one of which reportedly had about 500,000 attendees.
