I hope it made sense because I’m all over the place sometimes. So let me explain it here. Most of these companies want you to forget that’s why I assume they have trial periods. When you forget about your subscriptions, that’s where they get their money because they start charging you due to you forgetting. So I’m like you’re not gonna get me anymore. I started doing this a few years back, and I don’t have to worry about forgetting. 1. To get the “free trial” or “reduce price membership”, I subscribe, and sometimes still have to provide my credit card information. 2. As soon as I hit the button that subscribes me, I turn around and cancel the subscription. I do this within minutes of subscribing. I do this because I am very forgetful and don’t want to forget when my trial period is over. If I forget, I will be mad when I start seeing charges. I usually get a “Welcome” email with a link to my new account. However, I will sometimes find the account information on the app. There’s usually a cancel button. I hit “cancel”. On most apps, I still have my trial period. I will not get a charge once the trial period is over but the membership does not continue. Of course, not paying them means you will no longer have access either.
