as a waitresses they are paid under the minimum wage and the tip(15% declared) u hav is the rest of the pay that they need to have a minimum wage, so 15% is the bare minimum everywhere

I only tip if I’m being served at a restaurant. At shops or café’s there’s no need. The digital tipping is an electronic version of a tip jar.

Tipping etiquette is very strange. Coffee I do 0.50-$1 unless I’m getting a lunch then 15%. No at grocery stores. Yes for hair/nail services.

Montreal is abusing. 0% for coffee or any food pick ups. Stick to 15% if u are at a sit down restaurant. They put default 18%. Bring out calculator!

During the pandemic I started tipping when picking up a take away coffee. I usually go with the bar rule, so $1 per drink.
