It's #InvisibleDisabilitiesWeek & just because your disability is invisible doesn’t mean it should be ignored. Here are a few invisible illness hacks that can make daily life a little easier: Communication cards: Perfect if explaining your condition takes too much energy. I love ones from @stickmancomms for chronic illness and @iinsidemyhead_ for neurodivergent needs. Toilet card + RADAR key: For those “need to go now” moments. The RADAR key unlocks accessible toilets across the UK, and the card helps you explain why you need them. “Please Offer Me a Seat” badge: Great for trains and tubes when you need to sit but don’t want to justify it. I have lots of other badges which help me communicate different things about my disabilities too. Traffic light bracelets: Switch colours to show how much energy you have or how you’re feeling that day or that hour. These are discreet and send a quick and easy message to those who need to know. Sunflower lanyard: A discreet way to signal you might need extra support in shops, airports, or transport. You're supposed to be able to get these for free but we had trouble getting them in supermarkets. Phone accessibility shortcuts: Add your medical ID or quick-access features to share important info in an emergency. Living with an invisible illness often means explaining yourself again and again, but tools like these can make that a little lighter. Which of these would help you most, or do you already use one I haven’t mentioned? Let me know in the comments and share with someone who might find it helpful! #InvisibleIllness #ChronicIllness #DisabilityAwareness
