squares cause negatives to be positive, and sqrting the two caused them to not have that feature anymore.

the square root is an invalid operation: two numbers with the same square are equals *or opposite* and here we get that (-1/2 and 1/2)

by definition when you encounter √(x²) you should rewrite it as |x|

Very clever, I liked it. Had to re calculate the whole think to find the "bug". Square root from a negative and positive value 😏

"Let's go and get rid of the square" - you had -0.5 squared = 0.5 squared, which was true, and now you have -0.5 = 0.5, which is false. Good one

you're doing mathematical sleight of hand here. you're treating x²-y² = 0 same as (x-y)² = 0, and I don't recall the words needed to express that
