So true on new parts had new pistons put in and I didn’t catch it but one of of the spaces where the compression ring was too tight and started burnin

check the lifters before you chase up your cam guy. very commin now days lifter ground incorrectly, flat or even concave

I rebuild mostly 20 to 25 hp twins and have learned many ways to test and verify a rotating assembly as you progress. The result is no issues or leaks
