@mikuhistory: ⚠️(Educational Porpose)⚠️ In November 1998, Indonesia's transitional government convened a Special Session to determine the next election and discuss the government's agenda. Students rioted again as they did not recognise the government of Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie and did not trust the New Order members of the DPR/MPR. They also demanded the removal of the military from politics and the purging of the government of New Order people. The people and students rejected the 1998 MPR Special Session and also opposed the dual function of ABRI/TNI. During the Special Session, the people joined the students in daily demonstrations on the streets of Jakarta and other major cities in Indonesia. This event received enormous attention from all over Indonesia and internationally.
