@alexplore: An abandoned 110 bed room mansion with ties to the Titanic ship. Originally constructed in 1897, this grand estate was built by Peter A. b. Widener, a famous industrialist. Peter passed away in Lynnewood Hall at the age of 80 in November, 1915 due to poor health. The estate was originally supposed to be passed down to his Oldest son, and Grandson but they unfortunately passed away 3 years prior on the famous Titanic ship. The estate would go on to be sold out of the family over the next few decades slowly stripped of its magnificent interior. It was used in 1943 as training grounds for military dogs during WW2, and pieces of the land were sold shortly after. Since 1952 the property has been almost completely vacant, and you’ll be happy to hear that it has been saved since these photos were taken, with minor renovations underway. These videos show some of the more extravagant rooms inside the grand Lynnewood Hall estate. #abandoned #abandonedplaces #urbex #urbanexploring #History #historytok #titanic
