crazy to me how so many codes allow those auto vents. Also nothing wrong with tubular drains. We have been using em for 40 plus years with zero issue

Usually I cut open the sheet rock and cut the pipe in the wall and use no hub to transition to pvc, new pipe from copper vent pipe down to basement.

Firstly the trap should be below the ceiling and back vented, 2nd that auto vent should be above the flood level rim of the fixture
