His breathing was labored, and X-rays showed significant scarring on his lungs. Veterinarians also suspected he was aspirating through his cleft palate. Still, he was too young for surgery. The veterinarians decided emergency surgery to place a device in his mouth, closing the cleft temporarily, was the only course of action. He is the most precious little boy filled with so much life, but the financial burden of his care has become overwhelming.
