@thegingermason: dismantling a failed pinnacle on Lincoln Cathedral chapter house. The chapter house itself is 13th century but this pinnacle was replaced in the 1860s, the cement and iron used by the Victorians has shattered the stone. we will be rebuilding it in Limestone with hot lime mortar and more appropriate metal fixings that won't rust and expand. we found one possible masons mark but sadly no other archaeology in the core. stay tuned for the rebuild! #mason #stone #stonemason #cathedral #builder #History #englishhistory

Did you work off original blueprints or just tried to copy the existing as best as possible?

Lovely work. Noticed you don't seem to grease your plugs and feathers? Is that normal? I have a set I've never used.

Anyone else getting a Hot Fuzz vibe from the big lump of stonework at the beginning?
