@leadershipmel: Here are five skills to master as a leader. #1 - Vision Leaders have the skill of seeing where they or their team need to go and why. And they can do that for anything – for a project, for a department, for an organization, and for their own career. #2 - Self-belief Leaders know it's not arrogant to believe in themselves. Believing in yourself actually gives you the confidence to be open and seek support. It's the insecure leader who acts like a know-it-all and tries to control everything or avoids asking for help. #3 - You help people think Leaders ask questions and give consistent feedback that really helps people think critically. And they don't just do this with their reports, they do this with their managers, their peers, their suppliers, and their clients. #4 - Don't make people the problem The minute you put two people together, there's a chance for conflict. Leaders know the best way to handle conflict is to focus on the process problems being created. Even if those process problems are a misunderstanding between two people. Leaders know to find the real problem and not make the person a problem. #5 - Resilience Leaders know resilience is about giving themselves or their team the space to recharge and feel disappointed when things don't go as planned. And then you can inspire them to use that failure for good. Resilience is not about ignoring feelings and just powering through. P.S.
