Any reason why you specifically say baking power here whereas in a related recipe on serious eats you use baking soda?

I do this for my wings. Sometimes I do baking soda, and add some acidic homemade hot sauce right before baking, so it goes into the roasting oven as the baking soda reacts to the acid!
