I use uvb and halogen lights for my ball pythons and they are thriving. they even come out during the day to bask.

From what I’ve heard racks do mess up their day and night cycle. And I know 100% they do need special lighting, uvb and halogen

You don't really need a lamp, if you place your cage by a window, of course. If the sun is directly looking at the cage and you can turn off the light in the room, the ball python should be fine if...
