Yet, in this case, we were deprived of the opportunity to hear and scrutinize the proceedings firsthand. Beyond the procedural concerns, we must question whether the punishment to be imposed aligns with the offense committed. If a Christian dies with a sin they did not have time to confess, can they still enter the kingdom of God? Some people say: “Once you believe, you are saved forever.” But the Lord Jesus said: “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” — Luke 13:3 KJV The problem is, many people misunderstand repentance. Do you think repentance is just crying, or saying, “I’m sorry”? No. That is only regret. True repentance is not a temporary emotion. It is a change of heart and mind that leads to a change of direction. Look at David. Look at the people of Nineveh. They did not only weep. They turned away from evil. That is true repentance, and that is how people receive God’s mercy. Imagine this: A man commits a crime, but in court the judge shows mercy and gives him a lighter sentence. That is grace. But if afterward he still refuses to change, what will happen in the end is strict judgment. The Lord Jesus said in John chapter 8: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.” — John 8:34-35 KJV You may temporarily return to God’s house, but if you choose to live like a servant of sin, a servant does not inherit the kingdom of God. God is holy. He will not use grace as an excuse to allow sin into His kingdom. Forgiveness is not permission to sin. Forgiveness is the power to be cleansed and set free from sin. If you use grace to continue living in sin, maybe you have not truly understood grace. Of course, breaking the cycle of sin by your own strength is impossible. That is why Jesus promised the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 says: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth...” — John 16:13 KJV You do not have to struggle alone. You need to receive the Lord and walk with the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit and the truth can truly change you. If this message opened your eyes, write Amen in the comments.
