Some days it feels like I’m holding everything together with shaking hands. Between being a special needs mom, staying sober, and living with the loss of my brother, life has tested every single part of me. There are mornings I wake up already tired, but I still get up. I still keep pushing. Because there’s this little boy who needs me to be his calm when everything else feels too loud. People call it strength, but being strong doesn’t mean you don’t break. It means you break quietly, and still find a way to stand back up. It means you hold space for everyone else even when you feel empty. It means you love in ways that drain you, because that’s just who you are. And yeah, sometimes it feels unfair. You give everything you have and it feels like nothing ever comes back your way. But maybe that’s because you are the thing that’s being given. The good that happens to others. The blessing that holds people together when they’re falling apart. I know what it feels like to be invisible in your own story. To be the one who always figures it out, the one everyone leans on, while you’re silently wondering who you can lean on. I’ve had nights where I sat in the quiet, trying to catch my breath, trying to remember what it feels like to be seen beyond all the roles I play. But I’m learning that maybe I don’t have to be unbreakable to be worthy. Maybe I can be soft, and messy, and still be strong. Maybe the purpose isn’t perfection…it’s presence. Showing up. Loving anyway. Holding on when it would be easier to let go. And that’s what this sound reminded me of; maybe I am the blessing. Even when I’m exhausted. Even when I doubt myself. Even when life feels too heavy. So this is me. The real me, with scratches on my face from my little boy who can’t express his needs functionally yet... Not just Mrs. Peptira, not the business owner or the version of me that always has it together. This is Alyssa. A woman who’s lived through heartbreak, fought her way out of addiction, learned to love through loss, and still believes in light. I think it’s time I start showing more of that. Because behind the posts, behind the brand, behind every “strong one” label… there’s just me. Human. Flawed. Grateful. Still standing. And to my husband @Mr. Peptira thank you for standing beside me through every version of me. For loving me through the heavy days and reminding me that even the strongest hearts deserve rest. I couldn’t do this life without you. 💙 #peptira #fyp #realme #specialneedsmom #autism
