I tested
I tested "buy high versus buy low" on the Nasdaq. Same market. Same historical period. Different entry logic. The buy-high strategy only entered on new highs above the 200-day moving average. During the dot-com collapse, it mostly stayed out because there were no new highs to buy. Then I tested a dip-buying strategy below the 200-day moving average. It kept buying into weakness, stacked consecutive losses, and nearly destroyed the account in the backtest. That is the problem with buying low: you keep entering while the market is proving it can go lower. Buying high does the opposite. It filters for strength and keeps you out of many major downtrends. This does not mean every breakout wins. It means I would rather test confirmed strength than keep guessing where the bottom is.
