@oceanacanada: Everybody’s fish, everybody’s responsibility. 🐟 Capelin support the ecosystem in the waters of Newfoundland and Labrador, providing food for species like puffins, cod and humpback whales. Fisheries mismanagement has resulted in them also being critically depleted and overfished for the last 30 years. Continuing to fish a species that is languishing in a depleted state is government-sanctioned overfishing and has community-level impacts that can’t be ignored. 84% of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians support pausing the fishery until the population can recover. 🚨It's time to listen to the people. 🚨 Share this video and help Newfoundland and Labrador protect this culturally and ecologically important fish. Everybody’s fish, everybody’s responsibility. 🐟
