Impossible to answer if you don't let us know if the rpm is constant or not.

intuition says it's going to decrease. The angle will get smaller as the length of cord increases..

executeorder66 :
force opposing tension on string decreases due to bigger radius (assume velocity const). ANGLE INCREASES so tension resolved upwards balances gravity.

Tinned Meat Product :
I’m guessing the angle gets smaller. Larger radius means the spinning weight changes more slowly = less acceleration = less centripetal force.

too many unknowns. weight of string, speed of rotation, etc

Buzu90 :
well not enough information is given, how is the string being made longer? unless you increase the effort to make m1 rotate to that length, the string will slip back down until the same

The Fussy One :
It's an atwoods machine, y'all. m1gsin(theta) = m2g. Any change in length will require a change in speed for equilibrium. The angle will stay the same

Depends on speed of ratation 🤔

Up because you would have to swing it faster to increase the length…

Roll_man :
if same angular velocity, a larger distance makes angle increase cause it gets faster, so more centripetal force.
