Visit our website to get your ebook: www.fulkrum.health My new EBOOK will teach you all the fundamental exercises to facilitate baby's development and strength during the first 6 months. Now available in ENGLISH, FRENCH, GERMAN, BAHASA INDONESIA, SPANISH, ARABIC, MANDARIN, RUSSIAN and HINDI. Join the immense community of parents we have helped built a stronger and healthier baby! The lumbar reflex is key to the motion of the spine as it is the longest leverage our spine has to arch, signature of our bipedal capacity. The process of birth is very sophisticated, allowing (and much more than listed) the child to reorganise his entire spine and skull to prepare him for the outside world. His first survival reflex being the Breast Crawl, needing him to arch his back, push with his legs and lift his head to crawl to the breast. Imbalances happen when the structures of the body are exposed to an excessive amount of constraints/pressures, typically: forceps/vacuum, long/short birth, emergency/planned c-section, nurse pressing on the tummy, nurse blocking the baby from exiting, low amniotic fluid for a long time, lying down legs up, etc… C-section babies will usually be born with the lumbar spine in foetal position and will develop more or less limitations. When the lumbar spine is mechanically functional for a c-section baby, the imbalances will be shown on the upper thoracic spine and chest. In extremely rare cases there will be no alteration of the balance. Each delivery will be different, demonstrating the extraordinary ability of the body to adapt, thus the need for a systematic tailored assessment by a competent osteopath to analyse the potential consequences on baby’s body and the best way to reverse them. #osteopathymalaysia #baby #pediatrics #kids #development
