@cbcnews: India reopened its electronic visa services for Canadian nationals on Wednesday, suggesting an easing of diplomatic tensions between the two countries. The reversal comes two months after India stopped processing visas at its Canadian consulates, and for Canadian citizens abroad. In September, Canada alleged India was involved in the assassination of B.C.-based Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The 45-year-old activist and plumber was killed by masked gunmen in June in Surrey, outside Vancouver. For years, India had maintained that Nijjar – a Canadian citizen born in India – had links to terrorism, an allegation he denied. India dismissed Canada's claim of involvement in his killing as "absurd." In late October, India began easing the visa restrictions by resuming business, medical and conference visas, as well as entry for people with family ties in India. Restrictions remained in place for tourists, students, journalists and missionaries until Wednesday. #India #Canada
