I wear gloves when dealing with HOT material. Overtime... You get use to wearing gloves and your dexterity isn't affected

I tried wearing leather gloves when straightening a metal stake in a campfire, trust me, it will cook your hand

Personally I use a left hand glove if I’m working on a large piece with lots of firescale popping off, and two gloves when heat treating.

I wear contour gloves just thin stretchy gloves with a rubber type coating on the front. gives me the best dexterity while protecting the skin

99% agree... Nothing pisses me off more than seeing someone with gloves on at a Lathe! Fastest way to go everywhere at once

yep. that's why I wear a single glove on the tong hand, and no glove in the hammer hand. or maybe a thinner nitrile glove in the hammer hand, but that's rare and only because it's cold outside. lol
