I haven’t personally tried this yet and I supposed youd have to lay it down every year, but they have some sort of grid looking plastic you lay on

Put cinnamon on the spots they are digging it worked for me if the trees are the only spot I’d put a lot around them also it won’t harm the plants/pup

Put chicken wire laid flat on the ground around each tree. Until the doggies learn that digging there is a no no.
