@timmchiusano: don’t be like me and wait until the last minute! this was my approach: -first, open the system up 🥰 -i copied/pasted my original goals and mid-year review into a word doc and added updates / thoughts / self-evaluations directly into that (including as many specific data points/metrics possible) -i go bullet by bullet for a reasonably detailed and thoughtful evaluation of each piece of the overall goals -then i add in a quick summary to give broader context for performance & outcomes -i take that whole write into Grammarly for a clean-up -then i copy paste that entire doc back into the system so it reads easier for my boss too (he can see how my team and i have specifically addressed all the plans & goals as originally laid out) this approach helps connect all the dots between goals & specific outcome in our corporate system versus just me pontificating about how i thought things went i know these arent fun, but you should take them seriously, these are super important, it’s a formal documentation of your work, and your chance to advocate for yourself and/or your team pro-tip – write “we” instead of i where possible to have a exec tone to it; managers should specifically credit those on their team that helped achieve any goals ps - thanks for lunch @jony ☺️
