The more you explode over little things and the harder it is for you to let your guard down, the more you may be carrying an unhealed wound connected to Dad. 🧠 Sometimes, a woman who reacts strongly to small things isn’t responding only to what’s happening in the present. She may have learned as a little girl to stay on guard because she didn’t feel the emotional security she needed from her father. When a girl feels she has to defend herself alone, she may grow up believing that vulnerability is dangerous. As an adult, she may struggle to lower her guard, trust her partner, or express her feelings without becoming defensive. Perhaps that anger is protecting the little girl who once didn’t know how to ask for help. But today, you can begin to understand her story without allowing it to keep directing your relationships. Healing doesn’t mean justifying every reaction or blaming Dad for everything. It means understanding where some wounds come from and learning new ways to relate to yourself and others. 🪞 ✨ Try this exercise: Find a quiet moment, take a deep breath, and repeat these words: “Dad, I acknowledge what I needed from you and what hurt me. I acknowledge the little girl who learned to protect herself and stay strong. Today, I am an adult, and I can learn to respond from my present rather than feeling I have to defend myself against everything. I allow myself to lower my guard, express what I feel, and build relationships where I can feel safe, too.” If you feel that wounds from your family history are still affecting your relationships, my Breaking Patterns workbook can guide you in exploring and understanding these patterns. Find it through the link in my profile. 🧡 #FamilyConstellations #FatherWound #InnerChildHealing #EmotionalHealing #relationshippatterns
