It has to be approved just like airdrop it doesn’t just do it automatically you have to physically share it!

It only shares your contact info and only by directly touching your unlocked phone to someone else’s in a specific position. It also must be approved,

The transfer of information has to be approved on both ends and the phones need to be in full contact for a couple seconds! Just to ease some people!

This is if you LITERALLY grab that other persons phone and place it on top of yours .. other than that it won’t sync your info.

Go to Settings app, general AirDrop and fine the Bringing Devices Together tab. From there, you are able to shift from On to Off and vice versa.
