@thealexallen: Agree or disagree? I completely understand people not wanting tripods everywhere in the gym or being in the background of people’s videos. It’s why I personally only film in gyms where I have explicit approval and it’s part of the contract that gym members sign. Even so, at busier public gyms I do my best to be conscious of people around me and ask for approval if people will be in the background. I understand not everyone does that. I share my thoughts in hopes that it can potentially open other people’s minds to do the same. On a similar note, not everyone filming is filming to post online. On our team we ask our clients to film their sets to make sure their form is great, the intensity is appropriate, and they’re safe. I do the same thing for my own sets. So it shouldn’t just be assumed that people are going to be posting online. ANNNNDDD this is why learning how to properly communicate is CRITICAL, because my looorrdddyy that was not acceptable at all. I know plenty of people who would NEVER return to a gym if they had the experience she had. Personally I think that type of behavior should be grounds for your membership to be revoked. I’ve never personally experienced this, but I’ve seen it and was extremely grateful that the staff did revoke their memberships. If you’re uncomfortable or upset with something you TALK about it. Don’t be a dick.
